The igotU GT 600 is MobileAction’s newest GPS Travel Logger and offers some nice features and upgrades to its GT-120 & 200e predecessors. I was given the opportunity to conduct a product test on this unit and used it running and hiking. Designed primarily as a data logger, this unit can inconspicuously log hundreds of thousands of data points and synchronize pictures taken along the way…very cool. Determined to give it a thorough product test, I brought it out in the snow, rain, and longer outdoor workouts. Here’s what I found…
The headline feature of this unit is its motion detector. It will power down when idle and power back up when moving. Add this to its ability to log 80 hours of data points and you have a GPS device for the extreme hikers and runners out there! For example, most GPS units last 10-12 hours and will not endure multi-day hikes, the Ironman, or 24-hour / 100-mile ultra-marathons. The igotU GT 600 will likely outlast even the heartiest of endurance athletes!
The new Sports Analyzer software was an unexpected bonus! Not only does it calculate your calories burned, it graphs your altitude, distance speed, time, and pace! This feature is very cool and includes all of the nice mapping features from the @Trip software. You can toggle your overlay tracks from terrain maps to street maps to satellite views with ease….and view your workout data on the same screen. I really liked this data layout!
Weighing in at only 37 grams, this unit can easily fit on your shoe laces, back-pack straps, hydration belt, or on your wrist with the included wrist-strap. It comes with a rubber case/holder (clear) which has a belt loop on the back. I found it to very versatile in where I could carry it.
Like the GT-120, the iGotU GT 600 is a tough and durable tool that withstood some rather rigorous testing as I took it on runs and hikes in both sunny and inclement weather. It also has a very long-lasting rechargeable battery…with 80 hours of battery life!. This added battery life with its small size make it very unique compared to my other more expensive GPS units. You can easily record multi-day hikes, all day runs, and overnight fishing trips…and the GT-600 will catch & record all of your waypoints!.
The igotU GT-600 is amazingly simple to operate…one button and 2 LEDs. And with the motion detector, stopping and starting the data logger is automatic – a nice feature for both work out log clarity and battery life savings! And as mentioned above, it's very versatile in how you choose to wear it. The GT-600 is great for long runs and can be slipped on my hydration belt or just worn with the Velcro wrist strap
Shown above, the igotU GT 600 comes with a USB cable and software CD that installs easily and quickly to your computer. When I came back from a recent long run, I simply plugged in the unit, opened the @Trip software and the pop-up menus walked me through the rest of the process. As mentioned above, I really liked the Sports Analyzer software for viewing workout. I was also very pleased with the accuracy of this GPS unit. It advertises acquiring time to be less than 35 seconds and I would concur. I use a Garmin Forerunner 405 on my daily runs which costs 3x as much as this unit and while it provides more features, the accuracy of the igotU and Garmin data are identical.
I did a separate review on the igotU GT-120 and the igotU GT-200 and was very pleased with their performance as well. The added feature of the software upgrade and motion detector, make the igotU GT-600 more runner friendly . As a summary, here’s a list of the GT-600’s features:

Overall, I had a very positive experience with my igotU GT 600 Product Review. I found its data to be extremely accurate and reliable…from the time and distance of my runs to data-logger’s pause during periods of rest (motion detector).
It’s small size, accuracy, and long battery life make it ideal for hikers, long distance runners, bikers, and anyone else that wants to map their journeys. With its ability to effectively log 3-4 days of your activities, a feather weight to carry, and weather resistance to endure the elements…it makes a nice addition to any outdoorsman’s gadget collection. And at the price of just over $100 - it’s a great deal. I highly recommend the igotU GT 600 GPS travel logger...great gadget to track your outdoor adventures!
