The Great Outdoors

Go for an Autumn Run!

I have to admit that long runs can be quite a drag in the winter & summer…but I love running in the Fall! I had a 3+ hour run last Saturday which was downright pleasant. The smell of the falling leaves…the crisp air under the starlight morning…there some motivation that no mere mortal can supply.

No matter where you live or what season you’re in, chances are good that you’ve got a slice of nature worth exploring. Trees, fields, running water, packed sand, dew-covered grass, crashing waves, moon, stars, sunrises, sunsets…nature has endless diversions and attractions for a nice walk or run.

It’s easy to get stuck inside of our homes or offices and look for reasons why we don’t have time to work out, but once you get out there, you’ll wonder why you didn’t try it sooner. I find myself making new discoveries on every run and noticing details I never would have seen had I been driving by.

So if you’re used to the gym or it’s been awhile since you’ve ventured outside…get out there and enjoy it! Whether it be a local park or neighborhood, nothing beats the feeling of an outdoor workout. Happy trails!
